An installation about the imagined and actual stories of an abandoned building in Brooklyn,NY. It is also about the art of observation and finding little treasures in everyday life. This is an in-school residency at Juan Morel Campos Secondary School with BRIC Contemporary Art Education, a program of BRIC Arts | Media | Bklyn.
I was surprised to learn that Angela shared my fascination with this building. At different times of day and through the seasons I've admired it's tragic beauty--the mysterious hovering yellow orb hanging above the painted brickface facing the abandoned lot, the boarded up windows with triangular air holes and the mysterious sign "Hole in floor" tantalizing me. It turns out, I'm not the only one! Angela's idea to share this wonder with my students paid its dividends and now the viewing public can feast their eyes and minds on this great project. I've been thrilled to be a small part of it.
ReplyDeleteSmall part of it? BIG part of it, Adam. You started it with the word "non-linear". See what one word can do!
