During our final class, these amazing students/artists/thinkers composed shrines that are non-linear narratives about what they imagined inside the abandoned building and...what Nathan revealed to them as the actuality of the interior. Adam, Christina and I guided our students' imaginations by introducing an excercise where they decomposed Poe's "Raven" (before the raven reveals itself) and rearranged the words to create their own poem. As our fall residency was coming to a close, "The No Place" was coincidentally opening at BRIC Rotunda Gallery.
